Thank you for your consistent assistance in our work of mercy with Beauty for Ashes and our efforts of evangelism in our Lord’s Kingdom in the Philippines. Your prayers and support have help to sustain this labor. We now have completed our temporary church building and an 8 foot cyclone fence around the property. It has been a delight to have our own building for worship. We have changed our time of meeting to 9:00 A.M. to take advantage of the cool morning breezes. We are also glad to report a contribution from a close friend and minister in Alabama who has given $20,000.00 to this work. We will soon begin work on the clinic and the children’s cottages. If we can dry in the buildings, (foundation, columns, and roof), we can finish the structure as the Lord’s provides. Please make this a matter of prayer.
Some good news, Betty Jo is much better and I am glad to report that her blood clots have dissolved. She is more than my right arm, she helps me in every work I attempt to do. Because of the seriousness of her problems, I have been unable to visit other areas in my normal circulation. But for the next four weeks I plan to visit three to four days each week. It is my desire to get into the homes of both members and ministers of all our churches. Rather that go to an area for one night I will spend three to four days in one area. I desire to stay in homes and develop a deeper relationship with our ministers. I need to hear from them, their struggles, and labors so I can know how to better help them. Please pray for me for both safety and wisdom.
In my visitation among the churches I am organizing local fellowship meetings with each group of congregations. I am confident that it will help stabilize the soundness of our churches and be a good source of continued encouragement. With each minister I am attempting to help develop a cottage industry. Elder Travis Housley from Western Kentucky is helping wonderfully in this area. It is always better to teach a man to fish rather than give him a fish. My main thrust in the home visit is to help the man and their families to have a consistent devotional life with their families. The best influence in a community that our churches can project is spiritual, godly families.
Beauty for Ashes is continuing to prosper and Betty Jo has some articles in this envelope to share her work with you.
Thank you again for your help and prayers. It is both needed and appreciated.
G.H.
