Sawata Primitive Baptist Fellowship in Sawata, San Isidro, Davao del Norte, Mindanao, Philippines

Elder Roy Ilo and wife Mahalia

At the invitation of Elder Antonio Maglinte, Elder Gus Harter presented a message of the Doctrines of Grace at Boiling Springs Church in Asuncion, Davao del Norte in the year 2001 to a group of pastors that were not familiar with the doctrine of Primitive Baptists. They received the message well, but none at that time made any movement to unite with our people. However Brother Roy Ilo, after much prayer and consideration, united with Boiling Springs Church and was baptized by Elder Maglinte.

Brother Roy was formally identified with another denomination and had preached for them for 15 years. He proved a faithful minister and able defender of the doctrines of grace. He was ordained as an Elder and called to serve Sawata Church. The body of believers has increased. They had to tear down their small building and build a new one to accommodate the new congregation. Brother Roy also serves as the chaplain of the local police force and is well respected in his community. Please pray for this faithful minister that his labor with be blessed of God and the church at Sawata will be a witness to their area.
